ICJ: Australia to Sue Japan Over 'Scientific Whaling'
2010-05-28, Sydney, Australia. The Australian government announced that it will file an application with the International Court of Justice in order to prevent Japan from continuing its practice of ‘scientific whaling’ in the Southern Ocean. The government stated that all of its efforts to deal with the issue through the International Whaling Commission (IWC) have been unsuccessful.
