2010-04-13, Arusha, Tanzania. Georges Rutaganda, a former second vice-president of MRND, and the 32nd defence witness, testified today that Joseph Nzirorera, former Secretary General of MRND, was not associated with Interahamwe and did not participate in their creation. Rutaganda was convicted of genocide and serves his sentence in Benin. His testimony contradicted the testimony of the OTP witness Ahmed Haramyumukiza. [...]
